Richard has a background in the fire alarm industry and had a career change several years ago. He trained in amenity horticulture and apart from working on the smallholding runs a successful gardening business. His interests include sport, beers (consuming and making), space travel and local history.
Essie has been growing things all her life and has worked in the gardens at Raymond Blanc’s country house hotel Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons. She has a City and Guilds Certificate in Organic Gardening. Her interests include permaculture, art and crafts, traditional skills, the natural world, making new friends and having fun. After waiting 25 years she now has her smallholding and is busy setting it up as a low carbon farm.
